Dr. Brehm investigates how neotropical moth species richness, diversity, phylogenetic diversity, abundance, faunal composition, and traits change with elevation. He is also interested in systematics, phylogeny and taxonomy of neotropical Geometridae and Arctiidae. One focus of ongoing research is a new study along a full elevational gradient in SE Peru.
